As well as joining yourself you can become a 'good neighbour' -see below.

Dear Watch Member,

Neighbourhood Watch is a scheme that relies on volunteers, could you give an hour a month to help your street?

    • Being a good neighbour, you can make your community more secure by looking out for your neighbours, watching out for those who are elderly or vulnerable; and receiving and sharing crime prevention advice to help keep you and your neighbours safe and your homes and property secure.
    • To look out for residents and encourage them to sign on to OWL.
    • To “manage” the on-line OWL records for residents on your watch: to reflect changes in residency, or changes to faulty email addresses that OWL automatically detects and will notify of.
    • Ask residents with “telephone only” do they have relatives with email addresses, if yes, obtain email address and update contact details.
    • Encourage members to take the initiative to dial 101 for non-emergency issues or if you see something that doesn’t look quite right or 999 in an emergency.
    • Promote OWL App
    • Join our team of thousands of existing volunteers helping to keep Hertfordshire a safer place to live.
    • If yes or if you have any questions, please contact our volunteer deputy community coordinator for North Herts Phillip Potter Email:phillip.potter@herts.police.uk
