W​ork in Lucas Lane 29th & 30th September

Highways contractor Ringway has secured a works permit for two days, Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th September, to address the drainage issue and to clean/repaint the black bollards in the area in front of the War Memorial.

This permit is now visible on one.network and has been granted for 09:30-16:00 on those two days, when temporary signals will be in place on the junction of Lucas Lane/Station Road.

A​1(M) Northbound between junctions 6 & 7 - Resurfacing

Plans to carry out resurfacing, on the A1(M) between junction 6 (and junction 7.

Planned work over night on Monday 22 September 2025, weeknights only between 10pm and 5am, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A1(M) between junction 6 and junction 7, and divert traffic as follows:

While the A1(M) is closed, drivers will be directed to exit the A1(M) at junction 6 onto the A1000 Welwyn Bypass, then travel north on the B197 London Road through Knebworth, take the A602 westbound and re-join the A1(M) at junction 7.
