UPDATE – from National Highways
A1(M) northbound junctions 8 to 10 – resurfacing
I previously wrote to you about the resurfacing work on the A1(M) between junctions 8 and 10. There has now been a change to the date work will begin.
We now plan to complete this work over one night on Friday 15 August 2025. We will work between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A1(M) northbound between junctions 8 and 10, and divert traffic as follows:
Traffic travelling northbound on the A1(M) will need to:
- Exit the A1(M) at junction 8 onto the A602 into Hitchin
- Continue through Hitchin on Bedford Road to the A600
- At the end of the A600, turn right onto the A507
- Rejoin the A1(M) at junction 10

Read on » Dog Poo Waste BinsThere appears to be some confusion relating to the Ashridge Farm Campsite dog poo waste bin that was removed a few weeks ago. The Parish Council's previous notes did not make it clear that this red bin was privately owned by Ashridge Farm and they moved it back onto their site for their customers use. The Parish Council own 11 bins around the village (see map) that are emptied weekly. The Parish Council have no intention of removing any of these bins. |
